Drat & Phat First off, I'd like to lament over the items mentioned in this post being found and sold. On the bright side, there's something else I've hidden that shall remain hidden until 90% off is reached(I hope.) There's also a BCBG stock that is slowly getting cheaper and cheaper. I won't get anything for myself (Paying for schoolbooks allows no time for shoes & purses) but I'll get a few items to Ebay. There are five. FIVE Halloween Parties, this month (that I'm more or less obligated to attend.)

summer was busy, and I finally have dwindled my schedule down, and I only have 1 show left for the year.
september almost killed me. I booked way to much, and spread myself thin.

among physical exhaustion, mental exhaustion is setting in, and I really want to get away.
and the cherry on top, is the elections.
Im so disgustingly sick of it all.
I have so many opinions on the subject, but I would just contradict myself, if I talked about it.

Palin's Running Mate vs Barry Whoa! Look at me, posting and chit :) WoW, I finally woke up from that Yawnfest 2008, aka: the 2nd Presidential Debate. Aside from that stupid fucking YouTube debate in the primaries, this one takes the cake. For starters, anything with Tom Brokaw hosting/moderating/newcasting/etc is a travesty, because I can not get past his speech impediment. In particular his inability to say any word that contains the letter "L". Here are a couple classic examples: Tom Brokaw says BukkakeTom Brokaw says Tax CuntsI suppose the thing that really annoyed me, as well as both the candidates was the fact that this was supposed to be a "Town Hall" format debate, where you answer "down to earth" questions from "the people". This format would normally include topics along social, cultural, moral issues rather that the same shit we've heard from campaign speeches and previous debates. We know about their foreign policy. We know about their economic plans. We know about their healthcare plans. Yes, energy plans...we get it. Where were the questions that would get a different reaction from the candidates that what they are already doing on their stump speeches? A little something to throw 'em for a loop. The questions asked by these people seemed to me (I'm always a bit suspect with these things anyway) were contrived and didn't sound like something a "regular Joe" would ask. Nobody talks like "How can we trust either of you with our money when both parties got -- got us into this global economic crisis?" and the way these people asked their question, it was like someone handed them a piece of paper and said, "Here, read this to the candidate now". Stumbling over their words, incoherent, ugh. No questions on guns, abortion, affirmative action, imminent domain, why Obama tends to surround himself with extremists and extremist organizations (Reverend Jerry, ACORN, Bill Ayers, NARAL, socialists in general), or why McCain espouses shitty legislation as his accomplishments like McCain-Feingold or McCain-Lieberman bills or why he just recently changed his mind on ILLEGAL immigation. The questions last night were the same shit we've been hearing for months. Nothing new last night. There's no way I can vote for Barry. And the main reason McCain has the support he has is because of a conservative running mate. Put Sarah Palin out there more. Let her do her own campaign rallys and events. Set up some sort of Alaskan Moose Hunt with her or something like that. Winners can be taken to the backwoods of Alaska and shoot caribou from a helicopter. How great would that be?! And oh jeeez, goshdarnit, I want me another Palin/Biden debate. Yaaah, you betcha. Golly, That'd just be so swell, you know :P ps, Yo Barack! ( ♫ this way ♫ )» In other news, I watched this very interresting serie called Supersize vs Superskinny on youtube and it made me realize that I really eat too much and I'm gonna start a little food/exercise diary in order to make sure I eat NORMAL, healthy amounts of food a day. Not many of you know but about 8 years ago, I was diagnosed with Binge-eating disorder (ED-NOS). This means that I tend to have serious binges where I will eat like 4000~6000 calories a day when normally a woman should eat around 2000 calories a day. Lucky for me, I haven't gainned alot of weight because I have a high-functionning metabolism. BUT recently I noticed changes in my body. Over the past year I have been very unnactive and it shows. Those who are close to me or have read my lj for years know that I've dealed with identity crisis & body dismorphic issues in the past (entries have been deleted since because i couldn't stand them)... so yeah, in my twisted little mind I feel like I need to lose a liiittle bit of weight and tone my body in order to feel comfortable with myself. I would like to be back at the weight I was in 2002. I researched and decided to try not to eat over 1500 a day. That's what they recommend for someone trying to lose weight. We'll see how that goes. Don't worry, I won't put my health in danger. I know what I'm doing and I will also inform my doctor. Anyways, I recently realized that I know ALOT of people dealing with various eating disorders. Close friends, familly members, lj friends, childhood friends, even one of my japanese penpals. I wanted to understand what was going wrong in our minds so decided to do some research. It led me to watch the above mentionned series and a ton of other videos on youtube. I surfed lj communities, read blogs, etc. And I feel that I have a better understanding of EDs now. What shocked me though is that I found out that many girls are trying to "become anorexic" in order to lose weight. WHY?! First, anorexia is not something you can really "become" or "catch" because you want to. And anyways why would you WANT to? It's a disorder, not a game to lose weight! If you "become" anorexic after surfing proana communities, I think that's because you already had a very serious underlying body image problem. For someone to "become anorexic" it would take a whole lot of determination. Who would willingly eat under 600 calories a day, fast and starve for months? Unless they're sick (as in: having an ED), I don't think anyone could. I found this yesterday and I couldn't agree more:

Did you watch the debate last night?  I know it's superficial of me, but last night I couldn't help but think, "What if someone who was actually young and COOL became the president?" I was never the type to root for the popular kid, but it's not like Obama represents your average knuckleheaded jock. He's like the guy who is on the basketball team AND the chess team, friend to nerds and jocks alike. McCain just looked grumpy, shaky and irrelevant--like his best days were behind him. Hardly the respectable person he was just eight years ago (especially now that his campaign has gone the character assignation route). Seeing Obama and McCain side by side, I wondered how other people perceived the contrast. Obama could be the Michael Jordan of presidents! And I don't mean that just because of the race factor (which is exciting, I will admit!). The children of America would suddenly have a new role model. One that shows them firsthand that it can be cool to get involved, work hard, and help make a difference in the world. How many disenfranchised children will suddenly get a new burst of self esteem? Just think about the possibilities! Imagine how the world's perception of what America IS would be forever changed! It might even be a lot of fun! Now imagine how kids would perceive John McCain if he became president. Do you think they'll actually get excited? MAYBE there is a comfort factor...but would it also confirm that some things NEVER CHANGE? Is this being too idealistic? Probably. But I'm convinced more than ever that even if he can only live up to 25% of his campaign promises, the psychological effect of an Obama presidency would be a huge win for America. I went from being a casual fan to a full-blown Obama supporter last night. So...what do I need to do to help get this guy elected? I've made some donations and I'm in New York, which is hopefully already in Obama's bag. Since I have a full-time job I won't be able to drive to Pennsylvania or Ohio. Anyone in the NYC area doing something I can help with? How can we convince the skeptics? Current Music: Public Enemy: Fear of a Black Planet |

Saturn USB controller  I just bought and received a Saturn USB controller, in Japanese colours. It's very awesome indeed, and works on my PS3 as well. It was something I've wanted for ages, and I consider it as a gift to myself for having completed Tumbledrop on time. Of course you can't play Tumbledrop with a controller, but maybe I should make my next game playable with controller... ^_~ Of course, there are almost no games for the mac that I can play with it... curses! XD |

Been busy lately Well Ionno, depends what you consider busy. It's been fun for me at least, which is something I've needed for a while -- a break. I've been getting addicted to The Sims 2 and to my Baseball game again, watching a lot of playoff baseball, and playing a lot of online poker while listening to music. What music?
